Hi,
I thought I might add this nugget -- always soak (and drink and cook, and etc....) in the purest water you possibly can. I started using distilled water when I found out I was pregnant in 1981 and I throw a shot of trace minerals in my water for a sweetened flavor and mega benefits (the only way I drink water now). Highly recommend this considering the high levels of pharmaceuticals and organic compounds our municipal systems can no way handle.
Also a question....check out the carb content....while the protein content is great for us vegans (especially) I noticed the very high carb content....
Comments on that?
Great site, by the way.

This recipe looks so yummy!!! Quick question - in the picture it shows 1/4 cup of buckwheat groats, but in the recipe you wrote 1/2 cup. Let me know which one it is for 1 portion :) Thanks!!

Soak the 1/2 cup raw buckwheat and then use it all for the smoothie, and then save the rest if its too much. Those are the measurements I've given!

So you mean you soak the 1/2 cup of raw buckwheat and then use the whole amount in the morning for the smoothie but if the smoothie is too much then you don't finish it or do you mean you don't use all the soaked buckwheat grouts in the morning if you think they will be too much before you have even made the smoothie? haha sorry if that's confusing!

Hi there, when you say half a cup of buckwheat do you mean soak 1/2 cup of raw or once soaked then measure out 1/2 a cup? I did the 1/2 cup raw and when I went to measure it again when it was soaked I think it had almost doubled in quantity!
