I COULD NOT agree more!!!!!!!!!!! I hate diet books - They all think there is a ONE SIZE FITS ALL diet... But this is so far from the truth, it's not even funny. I constantly and continually promote people find what works best for them in regards to both diet and exercise. Eating vegan may work wonders for you, but it doesn't work that way for me - and obviously this is because we are both genetically built DIFFERENTLY!! That doesn't make one of us BETTER than the other - this just makes the both of us UNIQUE AND AWESOME :) Plus... I know that if we went out to eat, I wouldn't have to share any of my meal with you - BAH HA HA HA HA HA AHA HA HA! I don't share food ;)

You are TOO adorable - both of you girls!! This is such an inspirational and TRUE perspective!! Ditching the diet is absolutely the only way to do it. I yo-yo'ed quite a bit through college and a little bit after - juicing, restricting, you name it, I tried it. Then one day, I guess I just realized - why the hell am I doing this? I was never hurting myself seriously, but I never felt my best! Anyway, a healthy combination of intuitive eating + real, whole foods = my happy place. :)
PS your comment made me smile!!! :) Thank you thank you! I LOVE your blog too! I'm always looking for ways to eat more greens!! :)

I am a strong believer in intuitive eating. I have no patience for diets, diet plans, diet talk or anyone trying to tell me (or limit) what I may want to eat. All in moderation. I may be vegetarian, but everything besides consuming meat and poultry is fair game for me and my appetite. When you truly listen to your body and not deprive yourself, you would be surprised what you crave and what you really need.

I could not agree more! Ditching the processed stuff seems to happen pretty naturally once you really become one with your body and start listening to the cues its giving you. Mindfulness is one of the best things we can do for ourselves when it comes to health, nutrition and fitness. Glad you enjoyed Kelsey's story!

I always enjoy reading about intuitive eating because, for those who can really make it work, it seems like a great option! I like the idea of being mindful of what you're eating, and that's something I try to do myself. I don't follow a diet. I just try to eat the best foods that taste the best to me. Sometimes that means indulging, but I am finding more and more that it means eating veggies and not messing with the processed stuff.

Yay, Kim, I am so glad that we found each other's blogs!! So fun to find new friends/readers in the blogging community. And I am so happy that Kelsey's story resonated with you as much as it did with me. I think there is a lot to be learned from Intuitive eating, no matter what type of diet you normally follow. It's allll about listening to the bod. Xo

I am SO glad you found my blog so I could find you!!! I am stalking the crap out of your recipes right now and just love your whole philosophy about food and veganism. I'll definitely be reading along. <3

As for this post, loved hearing some of Kelsey&#039s story! I follow a few bloggers who are intuitive eaters and it&#039s so much more than I thought it was when I first heard the words. So much of what Kelsey said resonated with me as someone who was also on the diet-cheat-guilt train for most of my lifetime. Now I try to listen to my body as much as possible, and ditch all the food "rules" that used to control my life.
