Camille,

This comment put a huge smile on my face. Thanks so much for taking the time to write such a lovely response to the post. It's so true that sometimes taking the advantages of a healthy lifestyle too far can be entirely detrimental in themselves... that's something I have been dealing with lately and it is difficult. I am so excited to have you on board for the April challenge. And wow, that is thrilling news to hear that your race went well even though your training didn't go how you expected it to. I am still going to do it, even though I am most likely going to walk most of it because my ankle is still a bit of a mess, and I will most definitely soak in cold water afterward!!! And yay for Autism Awareness Day, I'm so thrilled that the love is being spread all around the world for such an incredible cause.

Lots of love!

This challenge is perfect! I have been planning on making some changes in my life lately and this is just the motivation I need. It feels like a sign that now is the time! There are definitely things in my life that frustrate me, but actually taking the steps to change them can be scary. However, I'm learning that life doesn't have to be something we worry about. And I'm not just talking about food and body hangups. Jobs, family, living situations...unhealthy patterns and stressors develop in many areas of our lives. But when we take risks to move towards what will make us happy and enjoy life then we can be better for ourselves and others on so many levels. Life is about change and I'm ready for it. OK, I guess I just gave myself a little pep talk :) I'm ready and excited for this challenge! Thanks for getting it started!

This is such a lovely post!

I feel that when you discover the advantages of leading a healthy life you love it so much that, without realising, you may start to take things a little bit too far which (ironically) may turn into a strong disadvantage. I personally have felt this way before. Especially when I was training for a half-marathon last year (which is why I was particularly drawn to your post). Listening to your body can be hard sometimes when you have a strong mind that somehow convinces your body that it should be able to 'keep running for another 30 minutes' (or whatever it may be)! But, as you nicely explained, in the long run this can lead to a 'binge-restrict-binge-restrict' type relationship with yourself which can be so detrimental to both your mind and your body :(

Anyways, I just wanted to say that I don't know if you have run your half-marathon yet but let me tell you that if you lead a generally healthy/sporty life (which seems exactly like you) then you will have absolutely no problems in finishing the race. I was worried I was going to struggle when I did my first half-marathon because, even though I trained a fair bit, I did not fully manage to stick to my training program to the dot because I lead such a busy lifestyle it was difficult for me to fit in such a copious amount of running into my schedule! But on the day of the event I ran faster than I usually do, I could not stop smiling the whole way and my recovery was so good after the race which made me realise that I was actually quite fit and there was no point in beating myself up if I missed a training one day! A great tip is to put your legs in cold water after your race, the cold water helps the blood circulate through your legs so you won't feel nearly as sore the next day!

And lastly, I read some of the comments about Autism Awareness day. A few of my friends and I celebrated this event last night in Sydney and it was so lovely to see many people participating in the event and supporting such a good cause. It's even better to see that people around the world are aware and participating in this event!

Sophia, YAY I am so happy to hear that this post resonated with you! I agree that so, so often people try to hide who they really want to be, when the truth is, it is SO attainable. All you have to do is recognize it, accept it, work toward it, and love yourself along the way. So happy to have you on board for this challenge. And yes, PLEASE say hi to me at the gym! I would absolutely love that. (Best gym ever, right?!) Thanks so much for the love and support. Xo

Hi Margherita! So happy to have you reading all the way from Italy :) that makes me incredibly happy. And yes, interesting that you have noticed that I can be too restrictive about my diet... I think you are completely right. Sometimes I just need to let up, let go, stop stressing and just be happy with the way I am and the way that I eat. And we can all benefit from that! Thanks so much for the love and support. Xo

I am so happy to hear that the results of your self-love work have been amazing!! I am getting there... slowly but surely, and the little changes I see thus far are thrilling enough to make me very excited to continue. And yay for working extra hard on it this month! Sometimes that extra push is all we need :)

Yay, so happy that you are participating on Instagram! Yes, embracing our flaws and making sure not to compare ourselves to others are two of the most wonderful things we can do for ourselves-- mind, body, spiritual and our relationship with food! So glad to have you on board!! xoxo

Hi Lisa, ahhh that sounds like a totally traumatizing experience at summer camp! I can so imagine how that would stay with you and mess with your head when you eat... I had similar experiences with adults (not my parents either, but still equally impressionable!) telling me to finish everything on my plate even when I wasn't hungry. It's already hard to develop a loving, trusting relationship between our bodies, our minds and our food, so being told we HAVE to eat something we don't want to only makes it even harder. And I totally feel you on the worries about trying to finish the food on your plate to save money! You can definitely save the scraps and make yummy snacks and leftovers with them :) So glad to have you on board with this challenge! You all inspire me so much! Xo
