Long time follower of Blood Type diet and Dr. Peter D'Adamo. He is one of the smartest people you will ever meet. In addition to answering all critics like the one who decided to " debunk the diet". Just head to his website for the details of that. In addition Steve Shapiro has his story on line some place and he was a vegan O like you and got very sick, almost died for the cause of veganism. He found Dr. D'Adamo and started on the road to recovery. I wish you much success. But I believe in the BTD and follow all Dr. D'Adamo's work. Look for SWAMI and the genotype diet as well as secretor testing. Live Right for Your Type is my favorite of his books. You can even visit him and ask all the questions you want on his facebook page or at the Center of Excellence at the University of Bridgeport where he teaches.

In reply to <a href="https://thebalancedblonde.com/2014/12/22/what-is-acupuncture-anyway/#comment-86114">Jenni Victor</a>.

If you have only tried this treatment once, isn't it a little soon to be reccomending it to others? A perceived psyhological state can enhance your physiological experience. It would be interesting if you could follow this entry up in 6 and 12 months time to determine if the effects are consistent and long-lasting. I have only read your blog today (confusing it with Raw Vegan Blonde, photographer/artist), but portraying yourself as a bit of a quitter who goes from fad to fad it would be great to see if the acupuncture really is beneficial to you over time and your initial enthusiasm maintains. Also, I am 30 years old and have similar life-long stomach conditions to yourself. Initially committing to vegetarianism before the age of 10, I have been vegan for almost 20 years continuously evolving & improving my lifestyle to treat my stomach illness in place of conventional medicine, investigative and surgical procedures. I whole heartedly reject your experience of the lifestyle as credible information for others beause I am living proof that a raw vegan lifestyle is easy to maintain for achieving optimal health. I would reccommend the vegan and especially raw vegan lifestyle to everyone even without considering the damaging known health implications of consuming animal protein, dietary cholesterol & saturated fat. Overall, it is critically important to back your expressed ideas up with firm evidence & experience especially prior to making reccomendations to others.

Hey Jordan. I was going to add what Jenni said about the blood type diet being debunked. I also would strongly encourage you to get allergy tests redone at an accredited nutritionist - I'm sorry but hat you have describe as the tolerance test sounds totally unscientific and it would suck to cut out food groups (particularly fruit!!) if you aren't allergic to them. Best of luck x

Hey Jordan,

I love your excitement about trying new things and being flexible, its great seeing other people as open/vibrant about life such as you. I absolutely want to start trying acupuncture, I think there is really something to it and I love anything new and spontaneous! Anyway, I hope you have a Merry merry Christmas!

Really interesting post, Jordan! My stepmother raves about traditional Chinese medicine and practices such as acupuncture and cupping (have you heard of this??).
Looking forward to hearing how eating for your blood type works for you. I have heard bits and pieces about it but have never known anyone who has actually tested it out. Hope it works for you lovely xx

Hi you!!! THANK YOU for your lovely and much appreciated two cents. I totally agree that there are SO many different theories flying around out there & I'm certainly not about to take the blood type diet as the word of God (although wouldn't it be NICE to have someone tell us exactly what we should and should not eat? My goodness my life would be changed) but I am definitely willing to try it! Especially because the fruit & oatmeal thing makes sense and that's been a huuuuge part of my diet for a long time so I'm into the idea of switching that up. Secondly... I have been meaning to text you too. I think of you all the time. It has been such a wild few months & I'm sure you have been busy too. When I am back in LA after the holidays let's make it a major point to get together! I miss you and want to hear all about how you're doing!! PS, I noticed that the blog is no longer! I want to hear all about that!! Text me!!!! Happy almost Christmas, my lover. Xoxox

I haven't left you a comment in forever (!!!) because I don't have a blog anymore, so first of all, HI! Secondly, I just want to make a comment about the blood type diet. I read the book a little ways back and for a while I was totally convinced by it. I thought it made total sense and I became an instant believer. Then I talked to Gena Hamshaw about it (whom I've always greatly admired, and who does NOT believe in the blood type diet at all) and she told me that it has been thoroughly and scientifically debunked. The more I looked into it, the more I opened myself up to the controversy of the diet, and I've gotta say, it didn't take long for me to completely forgo my newfound beliefs. I was also rather unhealthy on the guidelines for my blood type. So I just want to say to be careful how seriously you take it. I know you said you're not going to militant about it (smart thinking) but I thought I'd put my two cents in anyway. I am a firm believer that every individual has a different body that thrives on different foods, but I don't think it's because of our blood types. There are numerous strong and healthy paleo eaters who have blood type A, as well as a lot of thriving vegans who are type O. Just saying! Anywhooooo, I'm glad you're figuring out ways to work with your body. It's a worthy journey. I've done a little bit of acupuncture in my life, but was not consistent enough with it to garner any results. I've actually been thinking about it again recently, and might give it another go at some point. I'm excited to hear about what it does for you!

P.S. I've been meaning to text you recently just to check in and see how you've been! We should catch up again one day soon! Text me any any any time.
