Sunny, I read all the other responses, but you also need to consider underlying, undetected health issues. I have an autoimmune disease that took years to detect. And, complicating matters is the fact that sometimes the markers in blood tests won't show up until years after symptoms. In fact, the only thing that showed up was a vitamin D deficiency for me: and I'm 51.
Also, I can tell you there is a distinct difference in being tired and being fatigued, as in chronically fatigued. The fatigue was...life changing. I loved working in my yard and took pride in all the work I had put into it. But, after the symptoms of my disease began, I'd look at my overgrowing natural areas and want desperately to take care of it, but just could not muster the energy, for that or anything else. And, my particular autoimmune (Scleroderma) caused esophageal issues that made eating a fruit and plant diet - which translates to high fiber - difficult because these foods already require extra time to break down: having them take even longer to digest made me feel horrible.
What I would suggest is this: evaluate yourself. Are you tired because your depressed and depressed because your tired? Or is it truly that you CANNOT find the energy to do anything; even things you love? Someone suggested you need to exercise, and this is the perfect start. If you are tired and depressed, exercise should make you feel much better after just a few outings, emotionally and physically. If it is something more serious, it won't.

Unfortunately, there are genetic reasons for why some folks can't thrive on a vegan diet. If you have the funds, get a genetics test done. One example is vitamin A, you can get plenty of vitamin A precursor from plant foods but if your body is not genetically equipped to convert it at the rate you need it, you're going to feel terrible. But if you're an animal eater all of your life, you'll never know this about yourself unless you switch to a vegan diet.

I know you wrote this a while ago , but I was pondering changing my hclf diet to lchf diet .. called vegan keto . There is not that much info out there about it , but there is some .. maybe you need the good fats and lose the carbs as in bread , rice and potatoes .. I would keep the beans for protein

I think all the confusion or negative vibes just came from the title which was over looked . You did say raw vegan , but like myself , I didnt get past the hclf part .. For me raw is hard and so unappealing .. I tried but I just wasnt happy .. you have valid points and its good for someone going raw via youtube videos ( eat 10 banana people ) .. thanks for the article

I myself am raw vegan, but alot of my calories now come from blended greens in the morning and they have made a world of difference in my teeth, joints, eyes, energy, cravings, and weight loss. I highly recommend Going Raw by Judita Wignall to get started, and anything by Sarma Melngailis to delve deeper into raw gourmet.

I've been slowly transitioning to raw vegan lifestyle for the last year, and when I did lots of fruits smoothies (HCLF), at first, I started getting cavities. However, once I started making greens smoothies with mostly leafy green veggies, I started to really notice a difference, not only in healing cavities, but in lowering cravings for sugar- and fat-laden foods and losing weight--quickly. So now, I"m following an 80/10/10 diet with an emphasis on leafy greens, making Rejuvelac, and making sure to soak nuts and seeds to remove the phytic acid (which prevents you from absorbing the nutrients). This is an amazing way to eat, and I can't imagine eating any other way.

I'm vegan and eat everything I want except for animal cruelty products and I feel great. Perhaps you should visit a nutritionist. ;) Plus, I also know other vegans who are perfectly normal people with regular lives. What a shame you have only met such folks. O.o I don't find this difficult and I tend to pay more attention to wetter I'm eating all my veggies or not which is nice but I don't give it too much thought. Extremism is bad for you no matter what it is about, even if just water.

Migraines can be related to something else other than your food (that can only be checked at the doctor and not online). Many omnivores have them regardless and that is a chronic illness. I know people who suffer from them and have specific medication they must take.
