Your post makes no sense. She NEVER had cancer. You are sticking up for a liar. Shes disgusting and deserves to go t jail for convincing cancer patients that she had a natural cure. You can stick up for a liar all you want but it doesnt change the fact that she ha never had cancer and has never donated the money she promised. Shes a piece of shit that deserves nothing but jailtime.

The trouble is, of course, that people who are living authentic lives can’t really imagine how inauthentic people operate. I try the best I can to live authentically, to be honest with myself and the world. Several times in the last few years I have come across people who seemed in every way to be living the same ideal, but who were, in fact, pretending to be something they were not.
In this case it sounds like classic Munchausen Syndrome, which I encourage everyone to read about.

We live on, deceived but no less authentic ourselves.

Sorry for the long post, just had to vent at how much I feel like this happens. People create fake stories about major illnesses and use it to take advantage of people for money, attention, etc. The internet these days *sigh* it has it’s good side and it’s bad side. I’m just glad she was exposed. I’m sorry you had to deal with being manipulated like that.

Anyway, I read your blog all the time and LOVE your story! I live in NYC so I hope you do some events or something here sometime soon, it would be amazing to meet you 🙂

I have her app and book, and even though this whole story is a morally disturbing I still think her recipes are pretty amazing.

I have a friend who used to have a serious problem with lies when we were younger, and it really is a very sad thing that sometimes the person in question cannot control and does not know how to stop. If this does indeed turn out to be a web of lies, I just hope that those who gave up conventional treatment because of her claims to have healed herself naturally still have a chance. For me, I think that is the worse part, that this could actually have cost families to lose dear ones because of false hope.

It’s crazy, I would never dream of conjuring something up just for the sake of my blog! I’m with you on this, authenticity all the way!

I think there’s a difference between discussing an deplorable scam that Jordan has personal connections to (while advocating for truth, honesty and compassion) and giving in the to rude, negative commenters like yourself.

I just wanted to say thank you for sharing this. I know exactly what you are going through. About 5 years ago I had a friend, who was also a public figure and known by many people, who “faked cancer” and took quite alot of money from people. It was an incredibly heartbreaking and confusing time. As the months go by, and possibly year or so, you will likely encounter many different emotions and feelings. At first I felt compassion for him, and then anger and hatred, and then pity and sadness, and then compassion again.

Just go with the feelings and be open to how you feel. At times you may not want to be positive, and that’s okay. You’ve been deceived, and that can be hard to deal with.
