Pepper spray won’t stop a determined attacker – I’ve heard of many rape stories where the attacker simply wears glasses and your pepper spray is useless – same if he sneaks up on you. So rather than promoting some pepper spray brand you get kickbacks from, maybe promote real self defense – take some female self defense classes. Kicking them in the nuts or giving him a palm to the nose will be way more effective than useless pepper spray, and you don’t have to fumble around trying to get.

Thanks for the reminder about safety! My mini pepper spray fell off my keychain, so I’ve been needing to get another one. I like how these have a hand strap so you can take it on a run or walk to and from your car with it comfortably.

Your mum was very lucky indeed. I appreciate you’re sharing this here with all of us. I’m always very conscious when I’m outside on my own especially when it gets darker. I try to go out rarely at night… if I do, I often call a friend or my parents to talk to until I’m home, or at least have my phone in my pocket ready , just in case. I’m moving to a bigger city in a few month, I should really consider getting a pepper spray or something!
