I haven't done the low FODMAP diet, mostly because there is so much to give up, including things like veggies and hummus that I live on!! On the elimination diet, you give up major inflammatory causing groups, like gluten, dairy, corn, sugar, etc. After a few weeks, you reintroduce one at a time to see what bothers you. Now I just try to avoid the groups that bothered me, which I found to be mostly gluten, dairy, corn and soy (the major ones). I've considered the low FODMAPS just because I don't feel 100% better and I'd be willing to try it, but I can't imagine it would be much different.

You def just inspired me to start taking a probiotic again!! I've tried so many as I've suffered from digestive issues for almost 8 years. It actually got so bad that last year I weighed only 73 pounds...It's taking a while for my gut to recover from restricting that much and like you I feel like I'm constantly in pain after eating ANYTHING! I hope this works for you girl!

This post def inspired me to start trying a probiotic. I've struggled with digestive issues for 8 years! But they got so bad in the last 2 that I was down to eating maybe 800 calories a day and only weighed 73 pounds. I'm still "recovering" from that right now so you probably know how much of a mess my gut is :(

Hi Tori-Leigh, were you on the Low FOD-MAP diet? That's what they put me on as an elimination diet but I feel as if it were a long 90 days and not much guidance after to actually confirm and specific intolerance.

Ugh, I feel you on the digestive issues =( Probiotics definitely help, so did the elimination diet to see exactly what did and didn't bother me. My latest post is actually on all of my food intolerance issues. Lots of luck with this! Hope it helps =)

Align is the number one and only way to go. I've been dealing with digestive/gastrointestinal issues for years. I've had a endoscopy, colonoscopy and even breath test done (although that was the lease invasive). I've tried so many different probiotics, mostly because I'm a single independent full time worker and half time student, who is trying to cut cost where possible. I've tried generic, I've tried other brands, I even tried the latest gummy versions but nothing ever really worked quite like Align. It helps balance everything out and keeps me regular, and I can definitely tell when I fall off track with my eating habits and stop taking my probiotic my gut screams at me and I know it's time to get back in the habit of taking my probiotics again, and making healthier choices of course.
