Hi girl!! This comment is AWESOME and means so much to me. I think you should totally do it. I got Huddy when I was 24, and having a 3 month old kitten by my 25th birthday was probably the coolest moment yet of my adult life. I hope it works out for you! Luckily I am able to be home a lot during the day because of my flexi schedule, but you’re right I am also gone a lot. We have found a way to make it work — and whatever becomes “normal” for you and your pet will totally feel right to both of you! Let me know if you have any questions along the way… Huddy makes my life 298439 times better and I want that for everyone. <3 <3

Wonderful post! When I was 23 I rescued a 4 month old kitten and when I was 24 and she was just over a year old I rented my first apartment and she and I struck out on our own. That was over 13 years ago and this month she will be turning 14. I’ve moved from my childhood home to Atlanta, GA and from Atlanta to Boston, MA…I’ve had friends and boyfriends come and go but she’s been my one constant. There are few things in life as great as an animal companion.

I looooove this! And it’s all so true. I adopted a kitten about three and a half years ago, and it was my first pet. Sure, my boyfriend had a cat who stayed with me for a few months, but I’d never fully had my own before. And he has changed me so much too! It’s crazy how that maternal instinct can kick in when you adopt a cat. 🙂
