Wow, reading this was basically a wakeup call for me with my mindset around exercise! I'm normally really into intense weight training and even have a community around it, but while I'm healing my body from candida and a hormone imbalance my body has been wanting to do more soft, gentle movements. I've been really hard on myself lately about how I haven't been working out like I used to, but your number 3 really hit home. I can't just be sedentary for hours then workout intensely for hour and expect my hormones to balance! Thanks for this post!

I LOVE the second one - it's so easy to look at excising a certain way and feeling like you need to sweat your ass off. LOVE LOVE LOVE. xx

LOVING THIS POST RIGHT NOW... it is so easy to get caught up in the "I have an intense workout, sweat like a maniac and do tons of cardio" type of mentality. Movement is key!

I've just discovered your blog and totally appreciate the message of this post. Moving intuitively and listening to my body and sensing what activities and types of movement feel best at any given movement has been much more helpful in my own life than intense cardio routines aimed at weight loss have ever been. I'll have to look into intuitive moving more!

I have never heard of outdoor voices - and this is SO GOOD! I have been listening to you, and others and trying to force my movement to one one thing less (less intensity, and cardio) and more of what I love (pilates, yoga) even if at some point that changes!
So beautiful lady! Can't wait for the e-book!

LOVE this post, Jordan! I have recently gotten into 'intuitive moving' as well - I'm practising intuitive eating as well - and it feels SO good! I cannot tell how much pressure it has taken off my shoulders. I feel lighter, more happy already and I actually take the time to listen to my body and ask her what SHE wants to do today. Right now I like yoga and walking (I think this is because my boyfriend passed away a few months ago so I need my movements/exercise to be as calming and peaceful as possible so I can really connect with myself). In four months I might be into riding my bikes instead of walking. Who knows? I am just trying to listen to my body and what feels right at that day.
However, I do think I should make an effort to move a little more during the day - just like a 10-15 minute walk in the park during my lunch break. Not to exercise but simply to move my body a little and get AWAY from the desk and computer. So thank you for that reminder! :)
